Runestone

Runestone is an in-game currency introduced in Patch 16.0.0.37060 in the Chinese client[1], and Patch 24.2 in the international client.[2]
Spending Runestones
- Runestones can be spent to buy any kind of product in Hearthstone.[1]
- In the Chinese client, 1 Runestone can also be converted into 10 Arcane Orbs for card packs.[2]
Earning Runestones
Runestones can only be obtained through paid Runestone Bundles, available for sale in the Shop with real money. There are 6 bundles, all of which give a different number of Runestones based on its cost.[1]

Trivia
- According to Blizzard Entertainment, Runestones allow them to offer additional smaller-scale products, such as individual Battlegrounds hero skins or emotes.[1]
- The Runestone bundle sizes are based on popular pricing breakpoints within the shop.
- In many currencies, the pricings between Runestone bundles aren't equal. This means that there is a certain bundle that gives the most runes per money spent.
- In USD and EUR, it is cheaper to buy multiple bundles of 500 Runestones instead of a larger bundle, as you will save 1 cent for each purchase made.
- In GBP, it is already a full £1 cheaper to buy two 500 Runestone bundles instead of one 1000 Runestone bundle. Likewise, buying sixteen 500 Runestone bundles costs £63.84, a whole £6.15 cheaper than buying the 8000 Runestone bundle.
